Canters/Counter Canter. Is your horse in balance? S3 dressage instructor

"Would you like to improve your canter?  It's time to try the Counter Canter"

A counter canter is simply the horse being on the opposite lead.  Traditionally, we keep a horse on the inside lead for most canter work. Counter canters are used in many show rings including dressage, hunt seat equitation and for western horsemanship. In this session we focus on the dressage counter canter for 1st level.  The horses are required to stay on that canter as it is ridden through different curves that progressively get more difficult. Watch as Susan focuses on keeping Beau in a better balance as they work on the counter canter.

How do you know if your horse is in balance when you horse canters?
